Mechwarrior Online is a free to play online 3D arena shooter game with mechs by Piranha Games for PCs. It takes place in a fictional future where giant mechs fight it out with each other in 12vs12 battles. The game was made available to the public in autumn of 2013.
Mechs are divided into four broad categories: Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault. As a new F2P player youíll be given one of each type. These are a bit specialized, but can be customized to fit your needs and preferences. Usually, lighter mechs are vanguards and scouts for the team, Heavies and Assaults are the main attacking force, and Mediums sit somewhere between the two. Your first full-fledged Mech can take upwards of 20-30 hours of play to attain, so prepare for a long grind for new titans and their upgrades. Everything can be grinded in-game with funds, but of course, as in every similar game, real money can be used to buy things instantly. There are about 10 maps with only one game mode: Team Deathmatch 12vs12.
The game has quite good-quality graphics and sounds, and is fun enough to play. However, if you played the old Mechwarrior games, donít expect too many similarities or familiar elements with those.
